SHINE IN LONDON-DAY 7
Plan for day 6: Oxford Street, Hyde Park, Afternoon Tea Cruise, Tower Bridge
Got up early and had a breakfast.
My host Allice gave up her vegan diet for a doctor’s recommendation, but her refrigerator was full of healthy food which I love-various fruits, unsweetened yogurt, muesli, and tea. Especially I love the creamy honey. Since then, I’ve been thinking I’ll buy some honey like that, but I the honey in my home don’t get reduced.
It’s still raining. So far I had a rare chance to get wet in London, so I liked to bring an umbrella.
Maybe it’s because I bought a coat and scarf yesterday for chilly weather.
I saw a sign in front of the Unitarian church. ‘Birthplace of feminism’. I was surprised with 2 things-first is that I stayed in very historical place, and the second is that this local community not only has a great history, but they’re managing also.
Going to Oxford Street by double-decker.
As I get off the bus, I found a Korean restaurant ‘Kimch’. It was a pretty cool place that melts Korean pattern and style with modern style, but I have a rule that ‘I don’t eat Korean food when I am in other countries.’, so I didn’t get to try. Instead, I took some photos of the restaurant and I was laughing at a poster of ‘Stamp card’ with very serious character.
Anyway, I ordered a cup of coffee and a piece of carrot cake at Pret-A-Manger.
The phrase on the grease-proof paper on the cake was impressive. ‘Please peel off-grease-proof paper doesn’t taste very nice!’ LOL!!! I really wish to make a cool product like this!!
I took some photo with the permission of the staff. I’ll post later as a prêt-a manger special.
After I had an hour in there, walked along the street. How pretty the red phone booth in wet street is!
한참 걷다 책 ‘나의 첫 사업 계획서(원제: Anyone can do it : Building coffee republic from our kitchen table)’의 무대가 된 카페 ‘Coffee Republic’이 보이길래 커피 한 잔.
After walk along the street for an hour, had a coffee at Coffee Republic which became a main source of the book- Anyone can do it : Building coffee republic from our kitchen table.
The café was getting crowded when it was lunch time, I popped out of the café and went to Hyde Park.
Long story short, I walked along the edge of the park. Because of a old man from Kuwait tried to flirt with me, so I tried to avoid him and wandered in the park. I’m married!!!
But the good things were ceaseless green field and a squirrel. It met me accidentally and seemed panicked, soon it ran out of my sight with light speed.
I was in a hurry to get the afternoon tea cruise at Tower pier. The rain stopped and the sun was going down to the west.
The afternoon tea cruise is enjoying afternoon tea in a cruise ship along the Thames river.
Even though I’m a girl who working in F&B field, I’m not a gourmet, so I choose this program focused on the ‘experience’.
Here’s our cruise ship!!!
Citycruises.com
‘Citycruises.com’ has various cruise programs based on the Thames river. The afternoon tea cruise fare is 25 pounds per person, but when we booked, they offer special discount so we could book for 17.6 pounds!
The menu was composed with sandwiches (we can select mixed or began), sweets, scone with clotted cream and jam. As you see, the quality is not great, but well assorted.
While the ship moving along the Thames, they introduce famous buildings and historical cases such as the Jack the reaper and so on.
I love to see many buildings at the special angle which can be viewed only on the ship, and the shakes of the ship, the atmosphere, having time with Yura.
The staffs served food and drink stably and helped us to take a picture.
Short cruise time was over, and I gave my book-‘Walking London Museum’ to Yura.
I part with her and I made up my mind to walk through the Tower Bridge and go home. But my cell phone battery was so weak, so I wandered after I across the Thames and got to home after 8 pm.
So tired. :(
